Honest cooking, highlighting seasonal and regional products: that’s D’n Ingel. The grand café enjoys a good reputation among both residents and tourists. D'n Ingel has an unusual vision, incorporating accessibility, Burgundian cuisine, regional products and the guests’ wishes in a delicious melting pot.
Accessibility is high priority at D’n Ingel. Whether it’s a romantic couple enjoying a glass of wine or a group of thirty guests sampling the many wonderful dishes on the menu: everyone is welcome at D'n Ingel. Every day, the kitchen and waiting staff look forward to giving their guests the best possible experience.
Chef Robin Rutgers is the man behind the culinary creations which are served to the guests. He has cooked for world leaders, pop stars and politicians in China, Germany, Georgia and the US. The itinerant chef has now settled in Maastricht, where both Limburg residents and tourists can enjoy his culinary gifts. Robin loves it here. “In Maastricht, people have a Burgundian taste and they love good food. Here the ratio of high quality restaurants per square kilometre is incredibly high. This truly is a culinary city.”
The honesty of the cooking is reflected in the ingredients that Robin uses. Whenever possible, he chooses regional ingredients. “We have a wealth of regional products here. These are really our preferred ingredients. We’d rather have a fabulous, traditional Heuvelland ham to an Argentinian alternative, for example.
At D’n Ingel, choosing has become an art, thanks to the very extensive menu. Variety is important here. “You want everyone to enjoy their meal. We could halve the menu, but at D’n Ingel everything is about the guest. That’s why we have such a wide selection.”
You are very welcome to come and experience our culinary versatility for yourself.
